Lakewood Ranch Waterside Homes
Lakewood Ranch Waterside is Lakewood Ranch’s newest community, and the first to be built in Sarasota County. The community will feature 5,144 planned homes within 12 neighborhoods set on 5,490 acres south of University Parkway. Waterside will become the premiere place for lakefront living, as nearly 4,100 of the village’s acreage belongs to seven idyllic lakes with more than 20 miles of accessible shoreline.
Inspired by the West Indies, Waterside homes will be constructed by multiple home builders, including Pulte Homes and Homes by Towne. Pulte Homes is offering 246 single-family detached residences in Shoreview, the very first Waterside homes to be constructed. Shoreview will feature exclusive community amenities, including a private resort-style pool, outdoor barefoot bar and fire pit, various sports courts, and kayak launch.
Homes by Towne is developing LakeHouse Cove, with Lee Wetherington Homes and Arthur Rutenberg Homes. Lakehouse Cove will be comprised of 391 homes centered around a lake and will offer lush waterfront views and access to a private amenity center. The neighborhood will begin showing model homes by the end of the year.
Picturesque lakes will dot the landscape as Waterside residents enjoy various activities at Waterside Place, the village’s new Town Center, and the second of three to be built in Lakewood Ranch. The center will offer nearly 100,000 square feet of office spaces, shops, dining venues, and additional apartments. The Town Center will also boast an 8-acre lakeside park accessed by a pedestrian bridge. Throughout the year, Waterside Park will host a local farmers market and seasonal events for community residents and guests to enjoy.
In addition to the expansive community amenities already planned, The Players Centre for Performing Arts, a nonprofit community theater, is building a new complex within Waterside Place. The complex will include a 480-seat mainstage auditorium, a 125-seat black box theater, a 100-seat cabaret and an educational wing for residents. It also plans on hosting 600 events throughout the year.
